PADI Specialty Courses and Adventure Dives are available at Wright Diving, take three adventure dives and gain your Adventure Diver qualification. Take five adventures dives which inlcude deep and navigation and gain your advanced open water qualification. Take five specialty courses and gain your Master Scuba Diver Rating.

PADI's Specialty Diver courses are designed to provide opportunities for more in-depth knowledge development and skill acquiisition in specialized areas of diving and of interest to the invidual diver. Each Specialty Program includes relevant theory, followed by 2-4 dives to practice skills and experience new and different environments

PADI Diver Specialty Courses

PADI Enriched Air Nitrox - 2011 PADI Specialty of the Year

Nitrox is an oxygen rich gas up to a maximum of 40% oxygen. It allows for shorter surface intervals, longer bottom times and reduces the chance of decompression sickness. Shorter surface intervals equals more time underwater

PADI Deep Diver - 4 Dives -July 2011 Specialty of the Month

You'll learn deep dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and hazards. You'll also put this knowledge to the test as you go on four open water dives that range from 18 - 40 metres. Your certification will count towards the PADI Master Scuba Diver Rating

PADI Drift Diver - 2 Dives - March 2011 Specialty of the Month

During your PADI Drift Diver certification course, you'll learn about drift dive planning, organization, techniques and potential hazards, as well as special equipment and procedures like buoyancy. Your certification will count towards the PADI Master Scuba Diver Rating.

PADI Search and Recovery -4 Dives- December 2011 Specilaty of the Month

Have you ever dropped something in the water? Are you looking for lost treasure? The PADI Search and Recovery Diver Specialty course will teach you effective ways to find objects underwater and bring them to the surface. Your certification will count towards the PADI Master Scuba Diver Rating.


PADI Boat Diver
- 2 Dives - February 2011 Specialty of the Month

Completed in One dayWhether you've never made a boat dive or you've logged dozens, the PADI Boat Diver Specialty course can benefit almost every diver because different boats in different parts of the world do things differently.

PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle - 2 Dives

During the program, you'll learn the techniques you need to know for safe diver propulsion vehicle operation. This includes:- Diver propulsion vehicle dive planning organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards Equipment and procedure considerations  and How to avoid harming fragile aquatic life.

PADI Night Diver - 3 Dives October 2011 Specialty of the Month

Learn night dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and potential problems. You'll also learn how to control your buoyancy, navigate and communicate at night. Since many of the plants and animals you'll see are different, you'll also get an introduction to nocturnal aquatic life. Your certification will count towards the PADI Master Scuba Diver Rating. 

PADI Digital Underwater Photogrpahy 4 Dives to Level 2 - book here

Learn the basics of underwater photography such as composition, film type and camera handling, with special emphasis on practical techniques. You'll learn underwater photography dive planning, organization, procedures, techniques and potential problems. You'll also learn how to care for and maintain your camera equipment.

PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider - One Day

Be the one ready to help a fellow diver should the need arise by becoming a PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider. Breathe easy knowing that you know how to recognise illnesses treatable by emergency oxygen. Being the best buddy you can be means being prepared - especially in a time of need.

PADI Equipment Specialist - One Day

As a PADI Equipment Specialist, you are prepared for the basic scuba equipment maintenance, care and adjustments you'll encounter every day. In addition, you'll learn interesting background information about how your gear works, how it’s repair and other information that helps you with your equipment investment.

PADI Wreck Diver 4 Dives August 2011 Specialty of the Month

The planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of wreck diving The preparation and use of lights, air supplies, special equipment, penetration lines and reels Limited-visibility diving techniques and emergency procedures. Your certification will count towards the PADI Master Scuba Diver Rating.

PADI Dry Suit Diver - 2 Dives - March 2011 Specialty of the Month

If you want to see the spectacular and prolific aquatic life often found in colder water climates you'll need to stay warm and that means a dry suit. But, you want to be trained in proper techniques and this is where PADI Dry Suit Diver Specialty course comes in.

PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy - 2 Dives
June 2011 Specialty of the Month

The Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty Course teaches you ultimate buoyancy control to allow you to float effortlessly over the reefs and wrecks. With fine tuned buoyancy you use far less air, use much less energy and enjoy your dives in a more relaxed state. Neutral Buoyancy allows you to get closer to the fragile reef without causing any damage to the reef or your equipment.

PADI AWARE Coral Reef Conservation

The AWARE - Coral Reef Conservation Specialty course teaches you about the vital role of coral reefs in the marine environment. The course also familiarizes you with the current state of the world's coral reefs and how you can help. You will learn about the Project AWARE Foundation.

PADI Project AWARE Course - September 2011 Specialty of the Month

Learn about some of the most pressing problems facing these vulnerable environments and everyday actions you can take to help conserve them. It’s informative, interesting and most importantly, you learn how to make a difference.

PADI Self Reliant Diver Distinctive Specialty - 3 Dives


The Self-Reliant Diver specialty course recognises and accepts the role of the buddy system and its contributions to diver safety while identifying and developing self-reliance and independence while diving. This course covers when diving alone may be applicable, the need to compensate for those situations, including dive planning, life support system readiness, adaptive training, equipment and responsibility.

PADI Underwater Navigation - 3 Dives

When you’re underwater, knowing where you are and where you’re going comes in handy, especially if you’re looking for that reef, wreck or special feature of the dive that you’ve heard all about. The PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty course will help you at finding your way underwater.
